Overview

Elvet Construction Consultants employs a dedicated team of accredited Domestic Energy Assessors. This has enabled us to attract a modest portfolio of clients. Most notably neprocurement who represent a consortium of ten prominent housing associations within the North East. They awarded Elvet a four-year framework to produce EPCs for their members.

Elvet produces EPCs for several Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) within County Durham itself, with over 15,000 combined assets.

Additional Services

Since the Government introduced the HomeBuy initiative in September 2008 to help finance affordable homes schemes many social landlords have launched their own new build development programmes. Each plot requires a Code for Sustainable Homes Assessment which contains an energy rating. Elvet have been commissioned to produce New Build EPCs to demonstrate compliance with Part L1A of the Building Regulations which is required to secure funding.

In addition to Domestic Energy Performance Certificates, Elvet are also able to calculate SBEM ratings (commercial EPCs) for our clients. The ratings demonstrate compliance with the requirements of Part L2 of the Building Regulations for new and refurbished commercial properties at the point of sale or refurbishment.

Added Value

Elvet collate the information from the EPCs into a bespoke asset management database. This is used to record the energy efficiency of our client’s portfolio and evidence statutory reporting requirements. These include average SAP ratings, stock profiles and information for Decent Homes Assessments.

Elvet have applied our cost management services to assess the impact of our client’s proposed investment programme upon the energy performance of each dwelling. By calculating budget costs for proposed works packages we can calculate the most cost effective method of raising the energy rating and provide our clients with the foresight to make informed decisions when allocating their capital investment.

Conclusion

As a client you can take confidence from the fact that Elvet continues to provide both Energy Performance Certificates and our sustainable construction expertise to many of the region’s largest housing associations.
