2007
Elvet was established by Glen Griffiths and Stuart Fisher, achieving RICS regulation in the same year. The company was established primarily to offer cost management and project management services.
2008
Increased our service offering to include Building Surveying. The year marked the company’s first employee joining. Opened our first office at Regus House, Doxford International Business Park.
2009
Expanded our services offering Code for Sustainable Homes and On-construction SAP assessments. Company started to offer Domestic and Commercial Energy Performance Certificates.
2010
One of our milestone projects came to an end with the conclusion of Derwentside Homes Modernisation Contract, which included the refurbishment of circa 2,100 properties. Elvet provided Employers Agent and Quantity Surveying Services.
2012
Elvet achieved ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management accreditation.
2013
Invested in Causeway Cost Management software to improve the accuracy of quantity surveying service whilst providing the necessary tools to complete direct take-offs from BIM models.
2014
Moved our offices from Regus House to The Greenhouse, Annfield Plain as part of our expansion plans.
2015
Secured our first contract with Durham County Council through the Nepro procurement portal to provide NEC3 Project Management and Site Supervisor services to deliver Villa Real Bridge Realignment.
2016
Elvet started offering Clerk of Works services as one our key disciplines.
2017
As part of our commitment to embracing new technology we purchased a 3D scanner to allow our surveyors to undertaken accurate digital scans with the ability to offer Revit models based on the scanned data.
2018
Secured our first framework with Riverside offering Clerk of Works services in connection with their affordable homes programme. Expanded our services to offer RICS Residential Valuations, Home Buyers Reports and Building Surveys. One of our projects (HUSK) won Constructing Excellence North East 2018 Innovation award.
2019
Elvet wins the Construction Excellence North East SME of the Year 2019. In the same year, our colleague Stephen Donaghy was awarded Energy Champion of the Year at the North East Energy Efficiency Awards. In addition, we launched our sister website Elvet Property Services to expand our offering to private clients offering products for sale online.
2020
COVID-19 had a tragic and devastating impact on many lives. Throughout the pandemic our surveyors continued to work diligently adopting social distancing and safe working practices to help some of our clients deliver key services, including providing housing for vulnerable tenants, repairing unsafe structures and completing new-build care facilities.
Like many businesses, we adapted our methods of working to safeguard our employees and continued to support other small business to work towards recovery.
2021
Elvet Construction Consultants rebranded to Elvet Chartered Surveyors including the launch of new websites.
